Gerda
The crew

A former navy officer infected Gerda with the 'virus sailing'. He couldn't stand life without water underneth the keel and she joined every now and then.
Ulrich had been confronted with water and ships as a young boy while trips around harbours. Somewhat later, incidentally on 3.10.1990, the sailing started. Perhaps a little bit too individually the selfbuilt trimaran 'Trixania' was launched. With her I saild - close to bad seamanship - the Baltic three weeks. After this 'becomming a ship' Trixania got a permanent berth at the Ijsselmeer. Most parts were much too strong and therefore she was heavy and kind of slow. But astonishingly stable she could, unbelievable, she could sail with Bft 6 without problems.

Trimaran Trixania to Lelystad

Since a few years we sail with Trixania Mawi on the Ijsselmeer and, honestly, we get angry about leaving for home on Sunday evenings. The short feeling of freedom and adventure gets lost while working...until the next weekend. Right now we don't have another choise, than to sail these two days or for a bit more while holidays, and somtimes we have to cope with rain or cool temperatures. One gets a real pay-back in summer and therefore one somtimes wonders about, while relaxing in a warm and sunny harbour atmosphere, if one really has to sail to the South Seas...
For two persons it is possible to sail with us.
