SY Trixania Mawi

Trixania Mawi is a Midget '26 of the Jachtwerf Gebr. de Kloet (Kortenhoef/Netherlands). The lines of Midgets were developed following those of the fishingboats of Lynaes. In Scandinavia the hullform of a sharpsterned boat with a long keel is concidered as ideal for the rough sea since centuries. Anyway, Midgets are, however their name came up, a kind of small Colin Archers, as I like to say. In fact a Midget '26 is a stable ship and, in comparison to her length, she smoothly sets into the sea.
I prefer safty, while accepting slightly less speed - with Bft 5 6 kn and a bit more are always possible; allright, not upwind, then she 'slows down' to about 5 kn - so I had almost no other choise in this category. O.k., she might be a little bit more expensive than others, but Jachtwerf de Kloet offers a better standard.
On the Ijsselmeer or the coastal Northsea with Bft 7 a sailor will find himself/herself 'really interested', but one still knows to get home again even with a little bit more.
If there would come up a storm, you have to ask Scandinavian fishermen or other Midget sailos, as I never had a real storm yet.
This is not supposed to be or become a commercial site, but I recommend:
Jachtwerf Gebr. de Kloet and a downloadable test, published in the Practical Boat Owner (link to PBO see below).
